There’s something magical about this time of year — the in-between space where one chapter winds down and another begins to stir. The house is quieter (well, mostly), the coffee tastes a little cozier, and my mind starts wandering toward what’s next.

I’ve never been one for harsh resolutions or overnight transformations. Around here, we’re more about gentle resets — goals that grow with us rather than weigh us down.

So as I look ahead to the new year, I’m setting intentions that feel rooted, real, and nourishing. Here are a few of my personal (and family) goals for the year ahead:

1. Simplify our routines

Less rushing, more rhythm. I want to focus on creating sustainable routines that make mornings smoother and evenings calmer — not perfect, but peaceful.

2. Make our home a true “nest”

We’ve been dreaming about ways to make our space feel even more aligned with who we are — cozy corners, meaningful decor, and maybe even a small garden project Sam can help with.

3. Prioritize experiences over things

Whether it’s a weekend in the mountains, a new local trail, or a family movie night with popcorn and blankets — we’re choosing memories over material.

4. Nurture mind, body, and soul

Yoga, journaling, walks outside, better sleep, more water — the simple things that add up to feeling grounded and well.

5. Build consistency in small habits

No lofty deadlines, no all-or-nothing mindsets. Just small, steady steps that remind us that progress doesn’t need to be perfect.

As we head into a new year, I’m reminding myself that goals don’t have to be loud or grand. They can be whispers that say, This matters to me.

Here’s to another year of growing, grounding, and creating a life that feels like home.

What’s one gentle goal you’re setting for yourself next year? I’d love to hear.
